Restoring from the origin
The restoration of this village house in Segovia begins from a respectful reading of traditional architecture and its original materials, seeking to preserve the historic identity of the house while adapting it to the way we live now.

The work consolidates the structure throughout, making good the walls and roofs, correcting existing faults and reinforcing the stability of the building. New timber beams, introduced as a shoring system, restore the warmth and material honesty of vernacular architecture and settle naturally into the whole.
The project keeps the massing and the original character of the house, heightening the clarity of its spaces and the relationship between inside and out. In the garden, a landscape intervention built from earthworks creates levels and terraces that follow the natural topography. New paths and places to sit widen the experience of the site and tie the architecture to the landscape organically.
